LOS ILLEGALS: Auditions May 27, 2008 ASU Fine Arts
Center room FAC 131
Teatro Bravo will audition for its September 2008 production of “Los
Illegals” on May 27, 6-10pm (callbacks on May 28) at FAC 131 at
Arizona State University, corner of 10th Street/Mill on the ASU campus,
in the Fine Arts Center.
The production will rehearse in early August, and will open in early
September at Phoenix College’s John Paul Theater.
The play tells the story of a California working center where workers
gather around to seek day labor. An incident that gets a worker arrested
and the center shut down leads to a protest that reverberates in the
community around it, including the resistance of anti-immigration advocates.
A timely play about contemporary issues.
Various roles include:
12+ Latino workers—male-female—various ages, bilingual
(Spanish/English speaking
all sorts of accents )
Kim, Korean-American woman, lawyer, 20s-40s
Nathan, American lawyer, 20s-50s
George, American hardware store supervisor, 20s-50s
Juan, English-speaking Mexican, security guard, stocky or muscular,
or at least intimidating
Brenda, anti-immigration advocate, 30s

Teatro Bravo! seeks to produce plays in either English or Spanish that
promote a complex portrait of the U.S. Latino/Latin American populations of
Arizona. We seek to entertain and enlighten.
We also seek to develop the talents of Latino actors, directors,
playwrights, and designers. Complex, diverse, unpredictable,
sometimes confrontational, but always caring and engaged, we seek a
theater for all audiences.
